The 2015 Bison football team training camp begins on Saturday, August 15 and ends on September 3.
The defending Canada West champions will start with two-a-day sessions, which run from August 15-20, at two locations – Investors Group Field and Turf Fields - East Field (at U of M). The squad will play the first ever CIS pre-season game at Investors Group Field this year as the Bisons host the Guelph Gryphons, the 2014 Ontario University Athletics (OUA) finalist, on Saturday, August 22 at 1 p.m. CT.
Heading into the 2015 season, the Bisons will have a veteran core group returning as eight of the 12 starters on offence and eight of 12 starters on defence from the 2014 Canada West Champions return and seek to build off a third place 4-4 regular season while winning the program's first conference title since 2007. The offence will be led by second year quarterback and St. Paul's HS grad Theo (pronounced: Tay-oh) Deezar, four starters are back from last season at the receiver position and three of five starters return on the offensive line.
On defence, the front four is again very solid with three returnees from last season highlighted by fourth year David Onyemata (2014 Canada West All-Star). In addition, two of three starters at linebacker and three of the five starters in the secondary also return.
